Joyful Celebrations Supports Matthew's House

We are happy to announce that Joyful Celebrations has chosen a local charity that supports familes and children with disabilities who need respite from caring for children with disabilities.

About MATTHEW'S HOUSE:

A home away from home, Matthew's House will support up to five children at a time, providing a much-needed break for families. Children will be cared for in a state-of-the-art residence staffed by experienced caregivers. Medical necessities like overhead track systems for transferring and full wheelchair accessibility will be complimented by a beautiful aesthetic, a multi-sensory playroom and an outdoor playground. Overnight guest suites allow family to remain close while taking a restful step back to refuel themselves.

Matthew's House will be facilitated by Communitas Supportive Care Society, a local social service agency with a nearly 40-year record of providing quality care to individuals living with disabilities throughout British Columbia. Providing families with the support they need, Matthew's House is about caring for kids, a community encouraging one another, hospitality, compassion and joy. Matthew's House depends on the generosity of the community to meet its campaign goal of $4.2 million. Consider joining us in supporting BC families.

About Communitas:

The 2013 Walk so Kids Can Talk

Every day, young people in Canada are experiencing the cruelty of bullying, the loneliness of depression, or the pressure to succeed, compete, or conform. No matter the reason, every young person who reaches out to Kids Help Phone is struggling with their emotional well-being. Young people right in our own community need to know that when life gets tough, free, professional and non-judgemental counselling support is available, and our team is determined to "be there" for them.
By sponsoring us, the kids, teens and young adults in our community will continue receiving the help they need and the hope they deserve.

Join Joyful Jorge and his VIP friends as Mill Lake Abbotsford on May 5th for the Walk so KIDS can talk.  See who is coming:

Joyful Jorge and his VIP Mascot friends at Walk so KIDS can talk.

We will match dollar for dollar up to $1000 for our team members. So our customers and fans can donate to our team page or members of our team to help us beat our goal of $1000.

We want to help KIDS deal with lifes moments.

Our team is looking forward to making a difference as part of Canada’s largest walk to support child and youth mental health and well-being!
If your in the Fraser Valley or Lower Mainland join us Joyful Jorge and his mascot friends:  May 5th 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mill Lake, Abbotsford.

Joyful is a Proud Sponsor of Run for Water

Why Run For Water?

Runners possess an acute understanding of the importance of hydration - how critical clean drinking water is to sustaining fitness, health and life.  In the developing world, the stakes are much higher.  Estimates are that 1 billion people on our planet do not have access to a reliable source of clean water and that every 19 seconds, a child dies for lack of clean water!  The lack of a water source also means children, particularly young girls, cannot go to school. It means women cannot tend to their family or pursue a livelihood.  Instead they spend their days attending to their daily water needs, frequently walking for hours to fetch water that is unsanitary.  Each May, we encourage people of all ages and abilities to run for "Water" in order to help those in need access safe, clean water sources.  Access to clean water is foundational to securing health, education and economic well-being.  This is Joyful's 5th Run for Water.  We are very proud of our involvement.  Help us help others.  Join Joyful Celebrations and the community make a difference!

Water is foundational to a healthy life

Dilly & Jorge at MCC Relief Auction

MCC's biggest fundraiser of the year was held at TRADEX for two days of festivities, auctions, food, music, kids stuff and more Friday Sept. 9 & Saturday Sept. 10th.
Dilly the Clown from Click & Clown and Mrs. Click were present to entertain children and adults alike with humour, balloon sculpturing and photography.

Joyful Jorge was there too, getting into mischief.  Trying to ride the bouncy castles for free and bothering Dilly whenever he had the chance.

Festivities continue on Sunday at Emmanuel Mennonite Church for our closing Festival of Praise. All the fun supports MCC’s Generations programs supporting those living with HIV/AIDS. Check out the details here!
